Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this program, participants should be better able to:
- Develop patient-specific treatment plans for the management of type 2 diabetes
- Diagnose and tailor treatment strategies for type 1 and type 2 diabetes
- Interpret the diagnostic criteria for dyslipidemia and design individualized treatment
- Describe the pathophysiology surrounding obesity and the risks and benefits of the various weight management options
- Discuss current diagnostic criteria and treatment approaches to disorders of calcium metabolism
- Identify the risks and benefits of utilizing bisphosphonates in the treatment of osteoporosis
- Review the diagnostic criteria and therapeutic approaches to osteoporosis and other calcium related disorders
- Utilize case-based learning to develop treatment plans for calcium disorders
- Identify the risks of abnormal thyroid function
- Describe the diagnostic evaluation of thyroid nodules with a focus on the utilization of ultrasound and cytology
- Describe treatment options for pituitary disorders
- List management strategies of adrenal hyper and hypofunction
